Welcome First-time Visitors!
We welcome all visitors to join us for worship at First Lutheran Church on Sundays. You don’t need to be Lutheran or have been raised Lutheran to learn more about the faith and our congregation. We are delighted you have chosen to worship with us here at First Lutheran Church, a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
What is the ECLA?
ELCA stands for Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. It is the largest Lutheran Church body in the nation. It is organized into geographical territories, called synods, presided over by Bishops. Our local synod is the Central States Synod and includes Kansas and Missouri.
May I Take Communion at Your Church?
Yes! We celebrate an open table here at First Lutheran, which means that all who feel led by God to receive communion are welcome no matter if you come from a different Church or no Church at all. We believe that in Holy Communion Jesus comes to us in, with, and under the bread and wine to strengthen our faith and unite us to God.
What Do You Offer for Youth?
There are lots of ways to get your children connected here at First Lutheran. From opportunities to learn, serve, or fellowship, we celebrate deeply our holy calling to inspire and instill faith in the younger generations. See our calendar for what’s going on now and how your family can get involved.
