Dudley Hogue has served as the Parish Assistant at First Lutheran Church since 2005. Previously, he was the Director of Music and Programs, and Director of Music, at First Lutheran for seven years. Born and raised in Kansas, Dudley graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in theater education in 1980. He received a master’s degree from Baker University in 1994.
Dudley has worked for many not-profit organizations throughout his career, including being the Executive Director of the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus, Director of Advancement for GALA Choruses. Currently, he is the Development Director for the Heartland Men’s Chorus Kansas City. Dudley also performs in community theater, most recently performing roles in “Victor/Victoria,” “Chicago,” “LaCage Aux Folles,” “The Producers,” and “Sondheim on Sondheim.” He is a strong supporter of LGBTQA rights, and has worked tirelessly in the community to diminish the stigma of being LGBT. He supports equal rights for everyone. First Lutheran has been Dudley’s church home for over 35 years. He has been an active member of the FLC Blue Notes, Chancel Choir, and Bell Choir.
