Our worship services are central to who we are as followers of Jesus Christ. All who feel drawn to share in the sacrament of Holy Communion are invited and encouraged to do so. In joining us, it is our hope that you will come to know the real presence of our Lord. Holy Communion is celebrated at each worship service.

First Lutheran honors the centuries-old traditions of Christian liturgical worship as well as more modern forms of worship. The 8:15 a.m. Sunday morning chapel service is a more informal, spoken Communion setting. The 10:30 a.m. worship hour usually follows a setting from Evangelical Lutheran Worship. Music plays a large part in the second worship hour throughout the year, featuring our adult vocal choir and bell choir. During the summer months, a more contemporary liturgy is often used, such as Marty Haugen’s “Now the Feast and Celebration.” Usually the last Sunday of the month, the 10:30 a.m. service becomes a Jazz Service. This popular service features jazz musicians—instrumentalists and vocalists—from the congregation and the community as well as First’s own Blue Notes singers.

Children are an important part of our worship, both as participants and leaders, and are always welcome in worship services. There is also child care available, beginning at 8:00 each Sunday morning.
