Our worship services are central to who we are as followers of Jesus Christ. All who feel drawn to share in the sacrament of Holy Communion are invited and encouraged to do so. In joining us, it is our hope that you will come to know the real presence of our Lord. Holy Communion is celebrated at each worship service. In each month that has a fifth Sunday, the 10:30 a.m. service becomes a Jazz Service, and due to its popularity, we schedule a few more throughout the year! Child care is available beginning at 8:00 each Sunday morning.
First Lutheran honors the century-old traditions of Christian liturgical worship as well as more modern forms of worship. The 8:15 a.m. Sunday morning chapel service is a more informal, spoken Communion setting. The 10:30 a.m. worship hour usually follows a setting from Evangelical Lutheran Worship. During the summer months a more contemporary liturgy is often used, such as Marty Haugen's "Now the Feast and Celebration."
Music plays a large part in the second worship hour throughout the year, featuring our fine adult vocal choir and bell choir. Children are also an important part of our worship, both as participants and leaders.
