Twenty-Third Sunday after Pentecost


A man who was not a believer once saw an older Christian reading his Bible. And he said to him, “Why are you still reading that book after all these years? Why haven’t you finished it yet? It’s not that long.” And though that questioner may have meant that in a simple way, when you think about it, it’s a pretty good question. Why do we never finish with the Bible, even if we’ve read every word or even if we’ve read the good parts? I have a few theories.
