Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost


Something of interest, right here at the outset, that we would do well to notice: Jesus eats with Pharisees. We often hear how he eats with sinners and outcasts, but Jesus also eats with those who will not eat with sinners, those who don’t believe his interpretation of the law is correct, those who don’t believe that he should be opening up the family of God to more diversity, those who don’t believe in him as a messenger from the father. It’s perhaps an example for us, and an encouragement, to not fall into the trap of intolerance of intolerance. [To hear the entire sermon, click on the arrow above.]
