Sixth Sunday after Epiphany

As you all know, it took me a while to make it into the church. I came to know things about the bible and the faith rather later in life than some. For years, when I was a young person, I would occasionally pull down the old family bible from the shelf and nervously read a few passages here and there. And, it was the bible that the steelworkers’ union had given my grandfather when his mother died. And it came in this beautiful old box with a clasp and there was a picture of Jesus inside opening his arms wide. And I appreciated the beauty of that image but it was the things written in the book that I was nervous about. [To hear the entire sermon, click on the arrow above.]
