Fourth Sunday after Pentecost

Having spent some time at my in-laws’ place this past week, I had some time to look through their old pictures that they keep in frames and on mantels. And in addition to appreciating how much my kids have changed over the years, I also took a moment to remember the contexts in which those pictures were taken. Where we were living when the kids celebrated a certain birthday? What was going on in life at that moment in time? Some of the pictures I saw were of a tradition that Cheryl and I have of taking a photo during the first meal in a new place, a new home, often sitting on the floor, often eating off paper plates, with boxes in the background. Moving is quite a task, as you are all aware. [To hear the entire sermon, click on the arrow above.]
