Ninth Sunday after Pentecost

This week at vacation bible school, I was teaching in the chapel, where there’s that beautiful painting of the Ascension, as Jesus is going up to the right hand of the Father and the disciples are staring up at him. And when my bible lesson was done, I asked the children if there were any questions. And there were two questions that stuck with me. The first was from a young man who gave me the opportunity to preach the shortest sermon of my life. He raised his hand and I called on him. And he said, “Do you know that old legend about how Jesus was killed and then three days later he came back to life?” And I said, “Yes, I know that story.” He said, “Is that true?” [To hear the entire sermon, click on the arrow above.]
