Fourth Sunday after Pentecost

I love to read—and am irresponsible. So my loving wife recently paid over fifty dollars worth of late fines at the local library that I had accrued, making it possible for me to check out books again, which is fantastic. As usual, when making such a payment, I try to convince myself that I would turn over a new leaf, so to speak, and start taking my books back on time. [There was a pun in there; did you hear it? Very good! 8:15 was terrible on that. I’m proud of you—I like you all better!] But I knew that’s just not going to happen. It’s part of my nature both to love the library and to occasionally pay their electric bill. [To hear the entire sermon, click on the arrow above.]
