Christ the King Sunday

 

I did a lot of reading when I was young. I wasn’t a natural athlete or anything like that. We didn’t have many neighbors, so I spent a lot of time reading books, sitting on my grandmother’s couch while she cooked or washed dishes. I had to have a stack of books with me at all times. And I especially liked things to do with history, especially of histories long ago. And especially stories like the King Arthur legend. And I liked them not just for the exciting story lines, but also because those stories are windows onto a whole different way of thinking about life, very different from the way we live today.
