What is worth doing? It’s a question the importance of which increases the busier and the busier we get and the more demands that there are on our time. To do something, even a small something, requires energy, and time, and resources. And one certainly does not want to waste any of those things on something that isn’t going to matter. Jesus’ words these last few weeks, and including today’s gospel, addresses the temptation of measuring the worth of a task by the wrong value.
