Meet in the chapel on the second Sunday of each month at 9:15 a.m. for a special educational opportunity, featuring talks by various speakers on topics related to the church. Newer members, confirmands, and visitors are especially invited, but ALL ARE WELCOME to learn about First Lutheran and the Lutheran church at large.
Recent Insight Ministry topics have included a history of First Lutheran Church (in all its previous locations and iterations), Lutheran spirituality and what that means, what does a Lutheran bishop do*; the meanings, colors, and seasons of the church year; the Book of Concord; and the study of the Torah in the Jewish tradition.
*More specifically, what does our local bishop do? Bishop Roger Gustafson of Central States ELCA presented an overview of his everyday tasks as well as some targeted initiatives.
